Habitat and impact assessments
Counting deer is difficult. Measuring what they are doing to the habitat is often a far better guide to whether management is working.
What we measure
We survey browsing on young trees and the woodland understorey, bark stripping, fraying, damage to crops and signs of deer use. Repeating the survey over time shows whether impact is rising or falling.
The results feed straight into the deer management plan and help set realistic cull targets.
Where we work
We provide habitat and impact assessments across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire, with consultancy available nationwide.
